Re: Free Spirit Nursery: le futur?
Ils ont finalement vendu leur propriété et s'apprêtent à déménager en 2022, après leur "rush" du printemps:
Langley September 14, 2021
Dear Free Spirit Nursery friends,
Well, it’s happening! Looks like we’ve sold our highly developable property. It still feels surreal. They’re adding 30,000 people to the neighbourhood, that’s too much for us.
The deal is that we get to stay here through 2022 and as planned, the nursery will be open for its Spring Season just as it always has been and we are working hard towards that. Then, we start our (fairly epic) move to a quiet, idyllic acreage, who-knows-where, to re-create a new habitat where we can nestle in peace. That’s the plan anyway…
That means that next year we will not be open for a Fall season so if you’re still looking for the splendor of the fall plant selections, there are only four days left to do that, being this Friday and Saturday ( Sept 17 & 18) and the last Friday and Saturday in September ( 24 & 25) only. Open from 10:00 till 4:00
We’re anticipating a very busy Spring season next year and we would like to ask if there are any capable hands available to help us with the Spring season, to please get in touch with us.
As always, we are grateful for your lovely visits and support and we look forward to seeing you at the nursery.
Please tell us if you know the perfect future spot for us to settle, all tips will be much valued. We’ll always be gentle.

Final Closing Sale September 22, 23 and 24 for Newsletter Subscribers only.
Time: From 10:00 – 4:00
Dear friends and customers,
As most of you know, we have found an exciting new home and property on Salt Spring Island and we are in full swing disassembling the nursery and gardens on 32 Avenue.
(photo)
We are currently preparing our retail area for the final 3-day Sale.
What to expect in the sale?
PLANTS
There are about 2,000 plants left, lots of variety and with a surprising amount of colour!
Plants for all different conditions, for shade and for sun, and only some are labeled but many are not!!! So, it’s more of a “plantluck” so to speak. Also, from most varieties there are only a few plants.
New layout of nursery; one will no longer find plants in the numbered rows as they always have been in the past and how they always were indicated on our plant lists.
For this sale only we have sorted all the plants in the rows by price, i.e. all plants we’ve placed in Row # 5 would be @ $ 5.00, in another row, say row #8, all of those will be @ $ 8.00 and so on. Plus taxes of course. Please tag and price your plants as you select them, as before
As usual, accepted payment is by cash, cheque or E-Transfer only.
In one dedicated row, all the plants, perennials plus some shrubs and small trees, are individually labeled with greatly reduced prices. There, things could get worse than at a historical Woodwards dollarfortynineday sales event so please be as lovely as ever.

POTS
Now that we know which pots will move with us to our new digs, a good variety of small and medium sized pots is set out in the retail including a number of vintage pots from our private collection. There are no large pots available. NONE of our beautiful quality pots are discounted but have the fair prices you’ve come to appreciate here.

NURSERY PARAPHERNALIA
Includes excess furniture, display items, etc.
(photo)
PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT
The usual plant-name stakes with identifying labels.
A neat and tidy nursery, we’re in rather disheveled state as you can understand, sorry!
Sorry, there are no Plant Supports left.
Any time for us to help you plan a border planting.
And finally the answer on the most asked question: We will always love to grow plants and once we’re settled and dug in, we might have an Open Garden but we will not and can not start a retail nursery on Salt Spring Island and for that, we feel as sorry as you do, we will miss you and the whole great vibe we’ve enjoyed here, tremendously. We encourage you to seek out the young start-ups that are willing to learn and venture into the business of growing those plants which will otherwise surely disappear altogether. Thank you.
A Big Thank You! for all the help we have received from volunteers and staff. It has been a pleasure and an honor to work alongside you!
With our deepest gratitude for your patronage, support, smiles and good spirits!
Lambert and Marjanne

Re: Free Spirit Nursery: le futur?
Une autre pépinière intéressant qui ferme définitivement... On ne pouvait plus faire venir de plantes de chez eux depuis un moment mais quand même, on y trouvait des plantes non disponibles souvent au Québec.
