Ça m'a déçu.

Feuillage apparu fin juin, Pas fleuri.

Up to 3 per inflorescence. In cultivation, the moderately fowl-smelling flowers have been reported as being up to 16 in. ( 40 cm) tall from the tip of the dorsal sepal to the tips of the lateral sepals. The blossom originally described by J. J. Smith, however, was only about 9 in. (22 cm) tall. The flowers have pink to crimson sepals and petals and a long, sharply pointed orange lip. The narrowly elongated, sharply pointed dorsal sepal, which is apparently reflexed, is (8.6 cm) long by 0.3 in. (0.7 cm) wide at the base and 0.6 in. (1.65 cm) wide above the base. The lateral sepals are narrowly egg-shaped to triangular at the base with a long, narrow, twisted apical portion and a concave basal portion. The lateral sepals are 5 in. (13.4 cm) long by 0.4 in. (0.95 cm) wide at the base and 0.6 in. (1.55 cm) wide above the base. The small obliquely held petals are somewhat egg-shaped to lanceolate. They are 2.4 in. (6.2 cm) long by 0.3 in. (0.8 cm) wide at the base and 0.5 in. (1.35 cm) wide above the base. The mobile lip is sharply pointed, does not have lateral lobes, and is 1.2 in. (3.15 cm) long. The rather short column is 0.4 in. (1.1 cm) long.

Ceci devrait t'aider
LIGHT: 1800-3000 fc. Little has been written about the cultural requirements for this orchid, so the suggested light level is only a guess as to a logical starting point. Plants should be watched carefully and moved into higher or lower light as needed. (Lower light if leaves become highly colored or start to burn. Higher light if plants do not bloom). Thoms (1996) suggested "the brightest conditions possible without creating temperatures that are too high, and have fresh air circulating day and night." Light should be filtered or diffused, and plants should not be exposed to direct mid-day sun. Strong air movement should be provided at all times.
TEMPERATURES: Throughout the year, days average 80-82F (27-28C), and nights average 66-68F (19-20C), with a diurnal range of 13-15F (7-8C).
HUMIDITY: Averages are not available for this location, but records from nearby stations in the region indicate probable values near 80% year-round. WATER: Rainfall is light to moderate at the low elevation weather station, with relatively consistent amounts falling each month. Amounts from a higher elevation habitat would be much greater, however, with probably the same pattern of an even annual distribution. Cultivated plants should be watered heavily while actively growing with only slight drying allowed between waterings. The potting medium should not be allowed to become stale or soggy, however.
FERTILIZER: 1/4–1/2 recommended strength, applied weekly when plants are actively growing. Many growers use a high-nitrogen fertilizer from spring to midsummer, then switch to one high in phosphates in late summer and autumn.
REST PERIOD: Growing conditions should be maintained all year. Water may be reduced somewhat in winter, especially for plants grown in the dark, short-day conditions common in temperate latitudes. Plants should not be allowed to dry out completely, however. If water is reduced, fertilizer should also be reduced until heavier watering is resumed in spring.
GROWING MEDIA: Most Bulbophyllum species need perfect drainage with good aeration around the roots, so they usually are grown in very shallow pots or baskets using an open, fast draining medium. Varying amounts of water-retaining additives, such as perlite or chopped sphagnum moss, usually are combined with a base material of fine- to medium-sized fir bark or tree-fern fiber. Tree-fern fiber is preferred by many growers, because it does not break down as rapidly as fir bark, which means that repotting is not required as often. Many Bulbophyllum do not respond well when their roots are disturbed, and they sometimes sulk for a year or more after being divided or repotted. If the medium has not broken down but the plant has overgrown the container, it can be moved en masse and placed in a larger container without disturbing the roots. When repotting is necessary, it is best done when a flush of new root growth is just starting. This allows the plant to become reestablished as rapidly as possible. However, plants should be repotted immediately if the medium breaks down to the point that it is stale or soggy. Thoms (1996) describes a method of growing Bulbophyllums in shallow baskets that are placed in shallow trays of water where they are left in fairly low light for a few days and then removed from the tray of water, moved into brighter conditions, and allowed to dry out for a few days. He indicated greatly increased growth using this method.
